Dr. Rachel Gisewhite

Dr. Gisewhite has taught marine and environmental sciences, chemistry, and physical sciences across K-12 and at the collegiate level. She is a science educator that stresses the value of relationships, marginalized understandings of science, and authentic science practices.

She studies how youth experience the natural world, and how these experiences lead to a deeper understanding of science content and the power of their decisions and actions to promote an active citizenry. She and her husband have 6 sons and a golden retriever. She enjoys running, crocheting, reading, and spending time outdoors.
