What is a literal equation.....? This lesson on literal equations will teach students how to solve equations that contain multiple variables, rather than just numbers. These types of equations are often used in formulas from math, science, and real life—like the formula for area, distance, or temperature. Instead of solving for a number, students learn to rearrange the equation to isolate a specific variable, depending on what they need to find.
